Jenia was born and raised in Saint Petersburg, inspiring the story’s setting. Though not an official remake, See You Soon is an homage to Jenia’s favorite movie, An Affair To Remember, embodying similar themes of love triumphing against all odds. St. Petersburg has always held a special place in her heart and is a location she always had in mind when writing the script. After writing See You Soon, Jenia moved to Los Angeles where she studied screenwriting and worked with legendary acting coaches including Eric Morris, perfecting her acting skills in preparation for her role as Lana.
DAVID MAHMOUDIEH
Director
David began his career as a trainee assistant director on productions such as The Outer Limits, X-Files and Batman Begins, observing some of the finest directors in film and TV including Chris Carter, Christopher Nolan and Ron Howard. Leaving behind a career in professional soccer to become a filmmaker, David made his directing debut with the music video for Coldplay’s Lost and has since become an acclaimed and award-winning commerical director with recork for for Google, Lego and Samsung. David is set to direct an adaptation of the 1950’s Noir film D.O.A. for Lotus Entertainment, as well as the western biopic Boone, starring Michael Parks and Michael Madsen. He is also an accomplished screenwriter, having won the ECU competition with his spec script, Rain, now in active development as a mini-series with Neve Campbell attached to star and produce. David recently sold his spec script The Frail in a competitive bid and is currently adapting the graphic novel Worth for The Roddenberry Company, creators of Star Trek.
MONELLA KAPLAN
Producer
Monella has worked in media and entertainment since the mid 90s. A Journalist for German TV and Print media, she moved to Los Angeles in and graduated in 2003 with her third Masters degree from UCLA’s Producers Program. After graduation she joined Nu Image/Millennium Films and co-produced four feature film projects: Fire, Tornado, Snake Man and Edison Force (Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, Justin Timberlake, LL Cool J).
In the following decade, she continued working in the Entertainment industry as a Business Development Executive for various companies including Kentauros Studios and Icon Distribution and returned to Nu Image/ Millennium Films in 2010 as an executive in charge of Business Development Monella founded eMotion Entertainment to develop and produce projects with both commercial appeal and artistic depth. Projects in active development include Cloak & Dagger and Operation Kathleen.
